Archive: Workshop – Robofold

RoboFold is a radical new technique for sheet metal forming. Programming industrial robots to directly form sheet material allows every component made to be unique. Join this workshop to learn how to design for robotic manufacture through the design of solar shading facade components. The workshop will take you through the design process for curved folding, and explain how to optimise components for production by robots. Konrad Hoffman (Cloud9) will guide you through building your own Grasshopper definition to control a parametric folded component. Using the DHUB fabrication facilities, 1:10 scale models will be built that represent a fully manufacturable facade.
